The events that have taken place recently can make our community feel vulnerable... Understandibly. We need to stay proactive supporting the EGPD and all community safety efforts, staying aware of things happening around us and involved rather than criticizing our police and feeling it is someone else's problem. Reactive communities have a much higher price to pay. Thank you to all the PDs …   more ›

Brothers Wrestle To 2 State Championships

With the duel championships of the Jarrell brothers at the state meet last weekend, it’s no longer possible to ignore the small team’s serious talent. Stephen Jarrell, a 152-pound senior, won his weight class and Ebed Jarrell, a 112-pound freshman, won his weight class at the state wrestling meet at Providence Career and Technical High School on Saturday. “It’s a big deal,” said longtime wrestling coach Joe Amato. “There’s never been two state champions at one time at the high school.” “The Jarrell brothers are tremendous young men that are extremely dedicated to the sport of wrestling,” said …

Senior Night A Loss For Avenger Wrestlers

EGHS went up against Hope High School, falling 60-20.

It was a brave battle, but the EGHS wrestling team ended up losing to Hope HS  Thursday night, 60-20. To start off the match, 96 pound Avenger Peter (P.J.) Brouillard was welcomed to the mat and went up against a boy likely 15 pounds heavier, who ended up  pinning PJ in the third round of their match. Jarrell ended up winning his match 16-2 points, which would foreshadow his older brother Stephen's time on the mat. But until then, three Avenger boys got consecutively pinned, making the older Jarrell's match …
