Police Log: Dog Bites Mail Carrier; Police Pepper Spray Suspect

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Sept. 26 4:41 p.m. – A Kirker Drive resident reported a GPS unit was taken from her car while it was parked in the driveway. She said the car had been locked but then said the door may not have been closed all the way. Saturday, Sept. 29 9 a.m. – A resident of Hamilton Drive reported a smashed back car window. He said he thought it may have taken place between the hours of 1 and 5 a.m. 12 p.m. – A Frenchtown Road resident reported his permanent resident or “green” card was missing. 12:39 p.m. – Police were called to the fire station on Main Street on a report of a dog bite. A Postal Service employee told police she was delivering mail to 387 Main Street when the dog charged through the door and lunged at her arm. The resident …
