Monday, Sept. 19 11 a.m. - The owner of Shimmer Salon asked police to help her recover money from a client after a stop-payment was put on a $1,135 check from that client in August. Police contacted the woman who owed the money and she brought in $900 to settle the matter - an amount agreeable to the salon owner. Police suggested that the woman not return to the salon. 1:59 p.m. - A resident of South Pierce Road called to complain about a fox she said looked sick. This was just one of several calls police received about the fox over the last several days. Monday, Sept. 5 9:20 a.m. - The owner of the building at 378 Main Street reported that someone had removed the decorative copper tops from five porch posts. She said that each cap cost about $150. 11:26 a.m. - The manager of CVS on Main Street asked that police issue a no-contact order to a customer who police had been called to the store about before because of unspecified behavior. The order was issued, but the man, from Warwick, refusted to sign it. Monday, Aug. 29 11:56 a.m. - A Potowomut resident reported that her husband, with whom she’s having marriage problems, behaved dangerously while riding as a passenger in her car the previous evening. They had had dinner at Richard’s Pub on South County Trail and she was driving, she said, because he had had too much to drink. While they were traveling north on Route 4, her husband pulled the emergency brake, causing the car to spin out of control, according to the report. Her husband got out of the car and ran into the woods. Monday, Aug. 22 11:08 a.m. - A Spring Street resident complained to police that she was out of hot water for the 85th time since moving in to her apartment. Police left a message with the town’s building inspector. 4:49 p.m. - The director of the East Greenwich Housing Authority reported that efforts to evict the guest of one of the tenants on London Street have proven unsuccessful and that the man in question has made angry phone calls to her office. She said she did not want the man to contact her further. Police talked to the tenant, who said the man was not staying with her and she gave police his phone number. Monday, Aug. 15 12:23 p.m. - A Watch Hill Drive resident reported that two Craig’s List ads were placed in her name, advertising the sale of a 2001 black Lexus and a 1995 Honda. The ads included both her home and cell phone numbers. She told police that her ex-boyfriend has been calling her a lot despite a restraining order against him. Monday, Aug. 8 1:35 p.m. - Two residents of Shippee Road told police that they had seen a shiny black Jeep with after-market chrome wheels drive down roads beside their properties as far as to the back yard. In one case, the driver reversed the car quickly and drove away after seeing the resident. In the second instance, the resident stopped the car. Monday, July 25 10:57 a.m. - A resident of a condominium complex on Crompton Avenue complained to police about ongoing problems with a neighbor in the complex, including one time which left his wife in tears. He said he wanted to document the incidents. 1:28 p.m. - A River Farm resident reported that his credit card had been used without his knowledge to order $1,723 worth of goods from Hewlett Packard. Monday, June 20 10:25am - Someone reported that a tree limb had fallen on a Toyota Camry on Downing Street. No one was home at that address. The dispatcher was able to reach the owner later. 2:15pm - The animal control officer was called because dogs were fighting in the backyard of a house on Adirondack Drive. A resident of the house said that a neighbor’s German shepherd had come over and started fighting with her two dogs.
