Mike Guertin grew up in East Greenwich graduating from the high school in 1977. Since college he's worked as hands-on builder specializing in energy and resource efficient remodeling and custom homes. Mike tackles everything on projects from foundation installation and framing to tile setting and pushing a broom.
In addition to swinging a hammer, Mike writes about construction best-practices for several professional trade magazines such as the Journal of Light Construction, Tools of the Trade, Professional Deck Builder and Fine Homebuilding where he is a contributing editor. He also leads trainings for architects, building officials, builders and trade contractors at construction trade shows and conferences such as the International Builders Show, JLC Live, International Roofing Show, Deck Expo, and the Remodeling Show.
Mike is the author of Roofing with Asphalt Shingles, Precision Framing and Green Applications for Residential Construction, and his work has appeared in over two dozen other books.
