ReplyHow can Councilor Gee be a Fire Commissioner also? Just doesn't seem right.
Also, the commissioners truly need to see the goings on of the EDFD. It seems that they have no idea of what is happening behind the scenes on a day to day basis under their watch! There are so many peculiariaties, from the front office being closed during regular business hours, to the amount of grievances filed in the recent past, How is it allowed that a member of the FD is able to borrow a generator for personal use during a storm? This kingdom is running itself and needs to be reigned in sooner than later.Reply

ReplyYou can be assured a very, very, very small percentage of municipal town employees have no Co-pay. They have been working for the town for 20-30 years and it was part of their contract. Some of them only make between 35- 40k. after that many years of service. And any new hires for beyond the last decade plus have Co-pays. Sometimes it's the details that make all the difference in a story. Hey, why don't we do what Obama wants to do? The town could do it with co-pays instead of taxes... Lets have higher co-pays for those that make the big bucks...Town Manager, Directors, etc... and are there still buybacks for the town council members that don't take advantage of the available insurance? Are there any conflicts of interest going on regarding the healthcare that is being proposed? Is the representative related to or good friends with a person of influence with the town? We had council man once that was able to get the town to buy the insurance through his company...look deeper...

ReplyDoes anyone have any concerns about the cemetary being used for the fireworks launching ground? I think this was a complete lack of repect for those at rest there and their families.

Totally disgraceful favoritism shown by the town time and time again to individuals deemed untouchable by the town. Shame on you Town Council for allowing this to go on. Who's in Mr. carcieri's pocket? Are the Carcieri's really such landbarons that they can't keep track of their responsibilities living all the way over in North Kingstown?
