EG College Grads, Dean’s Lists, Spring 2013

EG Patch posts college graduations and honors on a semi-annual basis.

East Greenwich native Elizabeth Perkins was inducted into Stonehill College's Honor Society Lambda Epsilon Sigma. A member of the Class of 2013, Perkins maintained a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. The purpose of the society is to recognize and promote scholarship at the College. Acceptance into the society is based on evidence of academic achievement, of a pursuit of learning that extends beyond the classroom environment and of an ability to communicate effectively through writing. Additionally, in order to be inducted into the society, the student must be recommended by faculty both from the student's major and from outside of the student's major.

The following area residents graduated from graduated from Quinnipiac University during the 82nd Undergraduate Commencement held May 19: Alison Rossetti, a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, and Chloe Sondler, a Bachelor of Science in Health Science/Physical Therapy.

In recognition of superior academic achievement, Johnson & Wales University is pleased to include Morgan A. Gray to the University's Dean's List for the 2012/2013 Winter Term. Morgan is studying Baking & Pastry Arts and achieved a 3.75 GPA for the term. Gray finished the spring tri with a 3.7 in Baking & Pastry Arts

Laura K. Duff of East Greenwich, a senior at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, was elected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa this spring. Membership in the society is one of the highest academic honors an undergraduate student can achieve. Duff, who is majoring in biology with a neuroscience concentration and women's, gender, and sexuality studies, was one of 48 students to be inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at Colby. A graduate of East Greenwich High School, she is the daughter of Robert and Jill Duff of East Greenwich, R.I.

Eric Bieber a resident of East Greenwich, RI was honored at Champlain College's annual awards dinner for the Division of Communication and Creative Media. Bieber, a senior majoring in Professional Writing received the Willard & Maple Editorial Excellence Award. The annual dinner, which took place at the Champlain College Gymnasium recognized outstanding students and their achievements throughout the Division of Communication and Creative Media.

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is pleased to announce that Anne Pease was recently initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Pease is pursuing a degree at University of Rhode Island.

Lauren Gallucci, of East Greenwich, a sophomore majoring in Biology, is among more than 1,500 students who made the Dean's List at Coastal Carolina University for the Spring 2013 semester.

To qualify for the Dean's List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average. All students must be enrolled full time.

Rev. Augustine Kelly, O.S.B., dean of the college, announced that Talia A. Reid, a Fine Arts major, was named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2013 semester at Saint Anselm College, Manchester, N.H.

Reid, a resident of East Greenwich, is a member of the class of 2014. To be eligible for this honor, a student must compile a grade point average of 3.0 or better.

Benjamin Pallant of East Greenwich, a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 2016, has been awarded the Samuel Kamerling Laboratory Award at Bowdoin's annual Honors Day ceremony, held May 8, 2013. Honors Day recognizes the academic achievements of Bowdoin students and faculty.
