Recycles Pickup This Week: This is the week to pull your big blue toter to the curb for pickup on your regular trash pickup day In addition, the town is collecting yard waste every week this month. For more information, check out the town’s DPW website here.

Dodging for a Cure Dodgeball Tourney: Dodg'n for a Cure is a dodgeball tournament fundraiser to benefit the Gloria Gemma Resource foundation. All proceeds from registration and silent auction will be donated directly to Gloria Gemma. Tyler Ferra is holding the tournament as his senior project. You can contact him at dodgnforacure@gmail.com to register or for additional information. 5 p.m. at East Greenwich High School.

Teen Center: The Teen Center has provided a great place to hang out on Friday evenings for decades now. They meet at the gym at Eldredge School but you don’t have to play basketball to enjoy the camaraderie. From 6 to 8 p.m.

Arts in R.I. Handmade: Handmade goods like jewelry, ceramics, photography, ornaments, and more, amid a festive, welcoming atmosphere. Where the snowmen are – in the Red Barn, 30 Middle Road. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Beer Tasting @ Varnum Armory: If you like beer, then you'll love this event!  The Varnum Continentals' 4th Annual Autumn Beer Tasting takes place Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Varnum Memorial Armory. The antique Gatling gun and military machine guns from the Armory Museum will be on exhibit during the event. Proceeds benefit our efforts to preserve history, promote patriotism, and provide education to young people and adults alike. In partnership with The Savory Grape Wine Shop, this event will feature a wide range of artisan beers (from pilsners to porters) and light appetizers. Also, we will offer tours of the armory's world-class collection of military memorabilia and armaments. Advance tickets are $20 per person. Tickets sold at the door on event night are $25 per person. Annual Hill and Harbour Turkey Trot coming up fast! The third annual Hill and Harbour Turkey Trot takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The day’s activities will include a 1-mile kids fun run, a certified 5K race, DJ, face painting, and the chance to work off some of that pumpkin pie! Register at www.eastgreenwich5k.com.
